Cisco Catalyst 6500/7600 series Supervisor Engine WS-SUP720-3B is designed for enterprise core and distribution as well as datacenter deployment. WS-SUP720- 3B is member of Supervisor Engine 720 family, installed with PFC3B module (WS-F6K-PFC3B) to build hardware base CEF architecture by supporting centralized forwarding (CEF) and distributed forwarding (dCEF) with enabling MPLS label switching and ACE counters.
Supervisor Engine WS-SUP720-3B integrates with both MSFC3 and PFC3 in hardware. MSFC3 delivers high performance, multilayer switching and routing intelligence by efficiently utilizing CPU resources; PFC3 takes advantage of hardware-based features by supporting routing and bridging, QoS, multicast packet replication and security policies.
